Day One:

Check-in to your beautifully decorated rooms at Rome Cavalieri, many of which have far reaching views over the Eternal City. After post-flight munchies have been satisfied with a personalised cake featuring the children’s favourite cartoon character, the whole family will enjoy a Gladiator lesson in the hotel’s private park. Instructors from Rome’s Gladiatorial School will teach guests ancient combat techniques as well as explaining the life and times of the gladiators: a wonderful mix of sport and culture. A gladiator kit is included with traditional tunic, Roman sandals, belt, protective gloves and wooden training sword. On completion, students are presented with a medal declaring them a ‘Tiro’, or first level gladiator.

After a hearty lunch fit for a gladiator, the family will be taken on a guided tour of the Coliseum, where gladiators fought and often died some two thousand years ago.

Day Two:

After fresh fruit smoothies and homemade treats, the family will be driven to the Le Macchine di Leonoardo, which celebrates the life and inspirations of Leonardo Da Vinci. After returning to Rome Cavalieri, mum and dad can unwind in the hotel’s sumptuous Grand Spa or find a peaceful corner in the gardens to curl up with a book, and the children will be whisked away to create their own pizzas which the whole family will be able to sample afterwards.

Sunday Brunch at Rome Cavalieri is a Roman institution and not to be missed! The grand concourse outside L’Uliveto restaurant hosts the famous Music Brunch, where generations of families gather together. Elaborate hot and cold buffets offer endless choices, including a Wok corner, mouth-watering Sushi, freshly caught seafood and, of course, the finest pastas, all freshly prepared in front of your eyes. Even the fussiest little eaters are sure to find something they like! A great occasion for families, brunch is served every Sunday from 12:30pm to 3:00pm and costs €75 per adult, €35 per child.
