Home Holidays Ideas For A Weekend Break Away In Lancashire

Ideas For A Weekend Break Away In Lancashire

by TGB

My plan for this year is to take weekend break away and explore our surroundings by having a trip away and to recharge ourselves for the new week ahead. We are very fortunate to live in the North West (let’s not talk about the weather), the Lake District, Peak District and the coast are all within a very reasonable travelling distance, we are very spoilt!

Travelling with pets can make finding accommodation slightly harder, however there is noway we wouldn’t take our told timer pooch along with us! Besides, she has a fantastic designer dog bed to keep her comfy!

So, with the parameters being somewhere local and pet friendly, there are a few of the weekend break away ideas that have caught my attention…

Weekend break away

Ribblesdale Lodges – Gisburn

Part of the Hoeseasons Evermore Lodge Holidays Collection, you can gather that the holiday accommodations are decorated and kitted out to a high, luxury standard. With a choice of stunning lodges and cottages offering a home from home feel, you are spoilt – especially with some lodges featuring hot tubs!

With an outdoor heated pool and a children’s play area onsite, this is a perfect choice for families wishing to explore the Ribble Valley and Yorkshire Dales. You can check out Ribblesdale Lodges for availability and price information here.

Weekend beak away

Cleveley Mere

I have totally fallen in love. Cleveley Mere is absolutely gorgeous and totally reminds me of our stay at a French Center Parcs also set in a nature reserve. Situated on the outskirts of Preston, near Garstang and setย in it’s very own 24 acre lake in our 34 acre nature reserve; Cleveley Mere doesn’t accept pets, but that is totally understandable – the pooch would have to find alternative accommodation!

What is included for free: 12 boats, 25 mountain bikes,ย 4 four man pedalos,ย 12 kayaks,ย 9 hole crazy golf course, Free 100% WI-FI in every lodge, Riverside fire pit kit with marsh mellows, amazing enchanted riverside walkways, fresh free-range eggs and so much more. With so many activities included, this is a perfect family retreat, away from it all and enabling you to enjoy the wonderful countryside – if you feel like venturing out, you are right by the coast with Blackpool being a stone’s throw away. The lodges are quite spectacular and they even have a tree house… a TREE HOUSE! That is a bucket list must and I need to look into this more! You can check out Cleveley Mere pricing and availability here.

Weekend Breaks Away

Ribby Hall Village

On the outskirts of Blackpool, Ribby Hall is a popular destination for families who want to enjoy the local area whilst staying in a quieter location, pets are welcome! There is so much to do onsite, with a swimming pool, plus many more activities. You can eat onsite in one of the host of restaurants available and enjoy the nightly family entertainment. Some accommodation even offer hot tubs, which is always a big bonus, alongside the Spa Hotel too for those who want a pamper.

It is very much like a Center Parcs and the holiday village is totally geared up to offering families everything they need when on a break away. The accommodation offers a home from home feel with the buzz of all the activities being a major draw for the park.

If you thoroughly enjoy your stay in Ribby Hall Village, you can even look into buying your own lodge or holiday home. You can check out prices and availability here.

We stayed at Ribby Hall a few years ago and had a fab weekend. We stayed in the hotel bit and it was great for the kids.

Love the look of Clevely Mere! I’ve never spent much time in Lancashire; just a night or two in Garstang. I ought to remedy this!
